Allison Tulino was born and raised in Tucson and received her Bachelor's degree from the UofA in Molecular & Cellular Biology with an emphasis in Genetics and Human Health and a minor in Art History. During undergrad, Tulino studied the small molecule inhibition of the oncogenic protein eIF4A in Dr. Chapman’s drug discovery lab. Allison was also a member of the UA Biochemistry Club where she served as both President and Social Media & Outreach Chair. Following graduation, Tulino joined the biotech start-up, Avery Therapeutics, where she worked as a Research Associate.
Tulino will be continuing her education in the Goldman lab studying cardiac tissue engineering, molecular mechanisms of fibrotic disease, regenerative medicine, immunology, cell signaling, and science communication. Outside of the lab, Allison enjoys concerts, the outdoors, museums, and relaxing with her cats!
